As its name implies, the specialty of Inka Anaheim is Peruvian cuisine. Originally a part of the El Pollo Inka chain, Inka Anaheim has reinvented itself. It has greatly expanded its menu. There now are one hundred items, consisting of appetizers, soups, salads, chicken, beef, seafood, and vegetarian entrees, and desserts. Soft drinks, beers and wines are also available, as well as a variety of side orders. The prices are moderate and the serving sizes are large.

Inka Anaheim's menu is unique in that it is more extensive than that of nearly all other Peruvian restaurants and in that it offers several (about ten) vegetarian entrees, while most Peruvian restaurants offer none.

Uniquely Peruvian is the mildly spicy green sauce, called ají (pronounced ah-HEE), which is always served in a squeeze bottle. It's delicious on your bread, on your rice, on your entree, on just about everything. Also typically Peruvian is chicha morada, a sweet non-alcoholic drink made from purple corn. A favorite appetizer is Papa a la Huancaína, slices of boiled potato served cold on a bed of lettuce with a delicious cheese sauce and garnished with a black Peruvian olive.

Inka Anaheim is a family-oriented restaurant. Come in for lunch or dinner. You'll be made to feel right at home. If you're unfamiliar with Peruvian food, ask your waiter or waitress for a recommendation. Don't expect it to taste like any other food. Peru's cuisine is unique; expect to have a delightful meal.
